Jane C. Fahle's Obituary
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 20th at 11:30 AM for Jane Fahle at First Presbyterian Church in Henderson, Texas under the direction of Rader Funeral Home.
Jane Lou Coffey Fahle passed away peacefully in her home on July 13, 2018. She was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma on November 9, 1927. At four years of age her family moved to Vernon, Texas and then to Pecos where she graduated from high school in 1945.
Jane attended Texas Technological College where she met and married the love of her life, Wayne Fahle. She graduated from Texas Tech in 1949 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Secretarial Administration.
Jane had an amazing ability to make and keep lifelong friends that continue to be dear friends of our family. Jane and Wayne were married in Pecos in 1948, then lived in Lubbock, Tyler, and Abilene before settling in Midland in 1956 and Beaumont in 1971. In 1980, they retired to Wayne’s dream, the Running WF Ranch outside of Henderson.
Jane exhibited unending energy and zest for life. Her first priority was taking care of family. She and Wayne were blessed with two sons, David and Steven, and later their families. She served as a Cub Scout Den Mother for eight years for both boys, served as president of the Parent-Teacher Association, and was active in many school projects.
Throughout her journey in life, she was a member of several churches - Westminster Presbyterian Church (Midland), St. Andrews Presbyterian Church (Beaumont), First Presbyterian Church (Henderson) and First United Methodist Church (Henderson). A steadfast Christian and believer in Jesus Christ, Jane was always eager to help with church activities. She served on numerous committees, taught Sunday school, and played handbells for many years. At First Presbyterian in Henderson, she was the leader of Presbyterian Women from 1990 until 2014. An avid gardener and plant lover, she managed church yard maintenance and also coordinated several church renovations. With a passion for photography, Jane had an unbelievable ability to document life events intertwined with the rest of her many hobbies – family, friends, cooking and sharing recipes, horse show competitions, snow skiing, swimming, playing the piano, travel, and her love of animals. Jane and Wayne shared a love of horses and participated in horse show competitions. Wayne rode cutting horses while Jane participated in Western Pleasure. During Jane’s 15 years of competitions, she won numerous belt buckles and awards. Many wonderful memories were made on and around ski slopes. When Jane was 35 years of age, she began skiing with David and Steven. In February of 2013, while in Winter Park, Colorado they celebrated 50 years of skiing. She was 85 years young. Her beloved pets were a treasured source of companionship. She cared for numerous dogs, cats, and horses, but she was especially proud of the red slider turtle, Hokey Pokey, who lived for 51 years. Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Lamont Fahle. Upon his death in January, 2008, they had celebrated 59 years of marriage.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Penn Coffey and Mary Johnson Coffey, and her sister, Anne Coffey Dibrell. She is survived by two sons, David Wayne Fahle and his wife, Jetti, and Steven Allen Fahle and his wife, Rebecca. She leaves behind four grandchildren, Jordan Lynn Fahle, Stephanie Jane Fahle, Jenna Leigh Fahle, and Evelyn Isabel Fahle. She was blessed with one great-granddaughter, Gypsy Addalyn Fahle.
The family extends our heartfelt gratitude for the loving care that she received in the last few months from the wonderful nurses and staff of Angel Care Hospice. We would like to extend a special thank you to Jessica Maxwell for her loving care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the memory of Jane C. Fahle to the Henderson Animal Shelter, 1201 Highland Drive, Henderson, Texas 75652 or to a charity of your choice.
