I met Jan at the Hands on a Hardbody competition in August of 1999. She really loved running the contest, and we had a great time together. I ended up winning, and her and my buddy flew up together to be on the Rosie O'Donnell Show, right after Brooke Shields and right before Britney Spears. Jan was behind stage with us when Rosie showed us the burn mark on her butt from using dry ice for an ice pack. We had a good laugh at that. Jan was a joy to be around and really helped make my time in Longview and New York City highlights of my life.

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy in the passing of Jan. What a dynamic woman she was when she moved to Longview ....and her whole life .....until her health broke. I was on the Convention and Visitor Bureau Board when I first met her and she knew nothing about Longview. I filled her ears with all sorts of directions , events etc and she’d always tell me how much I helped her get around town and I was one of the first people she met when she moved here. Both of us were busy volunteers in Longview and having a lot of fun and crossing each other’s paths. When she was at Jack Long Nissan my husband and Jan became good friends too. Blake Long and my husband fished together in the Johnny Cace Group and Mendy would drop by there before a fishing trip and other times. She was awesome when they did Hands on a Hard Body Contest....pulling that together. She worked hard to make it so successful. What ever she was involved in ...or with ....she put her whole self into it and always had a smile for you. It broke my heart when her health broke and I hope she never endured pain. May she Rest In Peace now. I will always remember this special friend who was fun to be with and her high energy level. Loved you, Natalie

So sorry to see you go but more sorry for the pain and confusion you had to struggled through. You are done with that now sweet friend and my memory of your will last forever. I loved your mom so much. I also loved being your fifth grade teacher at Reagan. Your mother and I shared so many, many happy times and wonderful memories. She will always hold a special place in my heart. My sweetest thought was how much she loved you!

Kenneth, Amanda and family, I want to extend my deepest sympathy and prayers to each of you. Jan was a bright and shining star who gave so much to her communities, both in Longview and Odessa. She fought a courageous battle dealing with Alzheimer’s Disease. We will always hold memories of Jan in our hearts.
I worked with Jan at Jack Long while I was in High School. I think she chaired every board for every event and charity Longview had to offer. She loved people and The Great Texas Balloon Race! I think she could chair a fundraiser and turn around the next day and be the fleet commander fora aircraft carrier if she was given the keys, the responsibility, and a deadline fir the mission. She was a firecracker!!! I learned so much from her. She was an amazing friend and soul. She will be missed greatly, but I can garuntee heavens parties will be a lot better with Jan in the mix! I love you friend. We will see you again one day.
I was Happy to have known Jan for many years thru the flower business i worked for and thru patterson a well......she was always a bright and cheerful person and helped my husband and i buy some vehicles from them....she will always be remembered by many lives she affected ...loved you . Jan and fly high....

Oh sweet and fun Jan!!!! I shed many tears when I received the news, but now I smile because you are well and happy and making everyone laugh in heaven. I have such wonderful memories of our friendship. You always were so upbeat and ready to have fun and most of the time you created the fun. I recently found a note you had written me six days before my wedding. You wrote the kindest words and I have always known what a wonderful friend you were. So now I want to remember all the crazy things we did and laugh until I cannot breathe. You were like the comedian, Carol Burnett, and made the world around you smile. Thank you my dear friend for the laughter and friendship, not just to me, but everyone you met in your life.

Enjoyed going out to eat and walking in the park with Jan and her sitter Raye Kennedy. At the time I was sitting with Susan, a Lewy body/dementia patient. We always had a great fun time and both Jan and Susan enjoyed each other so much.
