James "J.R." Ray Parker's Obituary
Services for James Ray "J.R." Parker, 80, of Longview will be held at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, December 14, 2012 at 10 a.m. with Reverend Dale Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at Rosewood Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 pm Thursday, December 13, 2012.
Mr. Parker was born in Sikes, LA to Jesse James and Eula Effie Parker on March 4, 1932. After serving in the Navy from 1951-1955, JR began his career in the oilfield. He worked for Petrolite Chemical from 1971 to 1993 and retired as distribution manager. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He loved his family and fellowship with his friends.
He is survived by his wife Jessica Parker of Longview; daughter Raye Lynne Sullivan of White House, TX; sons and daughters-in-law James Michael and Mary Parker of Houston, TX, Phillip Lee and Julie Parker of Carbondale, CO; step-daughters Andrea and husband Kevin Nall of Waco, TX, Stacey and husband Clay Perkins of Longview; brother and sister-in-law Darrow and Mary Parker of Winnfield, LA; sister Maurine Poole Shawnee Mission, KA; 13 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
