James Henson Garrett's Obituary
James Henson Garrett, born August 30, 1961 to Marilyn H. Garrett and the late James R. Garrett of Brandon, Mississippi, passed October 16, 2011 in his Brandon, Mississippi home after a long battle with health issues.
Garrett, a former resident of Longview, Texas, graduated from Nacogdoches High School in 1980, and later received a marketing degree from Stephen F. Austin University, where he was a member of the Theta Chi fraternity.
Garrett spent his career working in the family motel business, and focused much of his time being a rock of strength for his family.
Garrett was the son of the late James R. Garrett of Brandon, Mississippi and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Efton M. Henson of Longview, Texas and the late Helen H. Garrett of Carthage, Missouri.
Garrett is survived by his mother, Marilyn Henson Garrett, and brother, Edward Garrett, of Brandon, Mississippi; sister, Susan Garrett Morris and brother-in-law, Bruce Morris, of Keller, Texas; niece, Margaret Morris Henderson, her husband Scott Henderson, and great nephew Garrett Henderson, of Keller, Texas.
The family will be welcoming visitors this Thursday, October 20 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Rader Funeral Home in Longview, Texas.
A graveside service will take place on Friday, October 21 at 10:00 AM at the Rosewood Park Cemetery in Longview, Texas.
