James Pete Wrigley's Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of James Pete Wrigley, a devoted
husband, loving father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, and loyal friend, who passed
away peacefully on October 3, 2025 at the age of 78.
Born on September 8,1947 in Indiana, James was a man of quiet strength, steady presence,
and a sharp, warm sense of humor that lifted the spirits of everyone around him. He lived his life
with integrity, humility, and a deep devotion to his family — always showing up, always standing
strong, and always knowing how to make you smile, even in the hardest moments.
He was the rock of his family — dependable, protective, and full of wisdom. Whether you
needed advice, a helping hand, or just someone to listen, he was there without hesitation.
James shared a life full of love and partnership with his beloved wife, Shirley Wrigley, for 53
years. Their bond was one of true companionship — built on love, laughter, and a lifetime of
shared memories.
He was a proud and supportive father to Melinda Riggs and Amonica Wrigley, a grandfather
whose stories and jokes brought joy to four grandchildren, and a great-grandfather who always
had a twinkle in his eye for his 9 little ones. His legacy lives on in every hug shared, every
lesson passed down, and every smile he inspired.
He had a way of making people feel safe, seen, and loved. His laughter filled rooms, his advice
grounded us, and his presence brought peace and comfort like no other.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Shirley Wrigley, his two children: Melinda Riggs
and Amonica Wrigley; four grandchildren: April Joseph (Hayden), Sabrina Daniels, Ashlie Hall
(Joshua), and Dillon Arnold (Ashley); and nine great- grandchildren. He is preceded in death by
his parents, Joseph and Dorothy Wrigley and his sister, Samantha.
A celebration of life will be held on October 10, at 10 AM at Spring Hill First Baptist Church in
Longview, TX.
