James "JC" Williamson's Obituary
James “JC” Williamson passed away April 20, 2025, in Tyler, TX at the age of 85.
He was born in Tatum, TX December 12, 1939, to Johnny and Alma Williamson.
Growing up, James attended local schools in Tatum and graduated from Tatum High School where he was very active in the FFA. James attended East Texas State University graduating with a master’s degree. He worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in the livestock and poultry division where he was honored with both employee and farm manager of the year.
In 1962 James met and later married Shirley Quick. They were married for over 62 years upon his passing.
James was drafted into the US Army and honorably served his country from May of 1963 to May of 1965.
James was active in the Beckville Masonic Lodge #922, and a member of the 1st Methodist church of Palestine, and the Sheriffs Association of Texas.
Those left to cherish is memory is his wife Shirley Williamson, 2 grandchildren Jay and Jenna. James 2 sons Charles, and Casey preceded him in passing.
Friends are welcome to join the family for a time of visitation in the parlor, at 1st Methodist Church of Palestine Thursday, May 1, 2025, from 4-6pm. A graveside service will be 1pm, Monday, May 5, 2025, at Stewart Cemetery in Tatum, TX. Arrangements are under the care of Rader Funeral Home of Henderson.
