James Bruce Washburn's Obituary
James Bruce Washburn, 71, of Longview, passed away on Saturday October 8, 2022. He was born December 9, 1950, in Paducah, Texas, to JB and Flodel Washburn. Bruce attended schools in Dallas before joining the Army and going to Vietnam. Bruce returned home to Kilgore. He married and had one son. He began working for Merritt Tool as a machinist. Bruce then worked as an independent truck driver until injuries he sustained while serving his country forced him to retire.
Bruce married Rosemary Slate and they spent many happy years together until her death in February of this year. The family would like to thank Hospice Plus and staff for the care they have given Bruce. We would also like to thank Meals of Love from Longview Community Ministries.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, JB and Flodale Washburn, his wife Rosemary Washburn, sister Susie Justice, and nephew Shane Justice.
Those left to cherish his memories are his son Joey Reinhart and wife Robin, of Kilgore, grandson, River Reinhart, also of Kilgore, Step sons Andy Clark of Longview, and Asher George of Nevada, Step Grandsons Austin and Keelan Clark of Longview, Aunt Jolene Wallace of Dallas, and many cousins nieces and nephews.
