James Q Rowe's Obituary
On the morning of April 23, 2025 James Quentin Rowe was called to his Eternal Home. The youngest of six children, James “Jim” was born December 12, 1952 in Kilgore, Texas to Quentin and Grace Rowe.
Attending Leverett’s Chapel Schools through middle school, Jim transferred to and graduated from Kilgore High School in 1971. Afterwards, he attended Kilgore College, where he was one of the lead drummers in the Kilgore College Ranger Band.
After college, Jim remained in the Kilgore area most of his life, employed at Hydroseal Company until his retirement. Upon the passing of his beloved wife Annet in recent years, he moved into a senior apartment complex in Longview.
Growing up, Jim was an active member with his family at Kilgore First Church of God. He later regularly attended Kilgore First Church of Nazarene with his late wife Annet and family, where he used his percussion talent, often playing the drums to accompany hymns.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents; wife Annet Thornbrugh Rowe; brothers, George Rowe and David Rowe; sister, Betty Briceno; granddaughter, Suzanne Williams; and son-in-law, Kenneth Holbrook.
He is survived by: daughters, Kimberly Devall; Lisa Holbrook; and Jennifer Hurtubise (Mark); nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brother, John Rowe (Miryam); sister, Joyce Scoggins (Randy); and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, and friends.
A graveside service is scheduled for a later date at Longview Memorial Gardens.
