James Roland Forbus' Obituary
Services for James Roland Forbus, 82, of Longview will be 10 AM Saturday, February 8th at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel , 1617 Judson Rd. with Roger Forbus and Allen Tolliver officiating. Burial will be 3:30 PM at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, Oklahoma. Mr. Forbus died Thursday morning at his residence.
He was born July 2, 1920 at Ozark, Arkansas to James Orval and Nora Sutliff Forbus. A former resident of Grand Prairie, Mr. Forbus had lived in Longview since June of 1999. He was a member of the Longview Church of Christ, an army veteran of World War II, and was a carpenter and maintenance foreman for apartment houses.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce of Longview; his son and wife, Roger and Christina Forbus of Diana; his daughter and husband, Sally and Gary Rees of Longview; grandchildlren: Michael Forbus, Robert Forbus, Elizabeth McElrath, Charley Rainaud, Kristy Tuhy, and Robert Rees; six great grandchildren; his brothers: Raymond Forbus of Hugo, Oklahoma, Gene Forbus of Millington, Tennessee, and Delbert Forbus of Hugo, Oklahoma; his sisters: Helen Christianson of Heber Springs, Arkansas and Altha Alexander of Oklahoma City and a number of nieces and nephews.
