Memorial services will be held for James R. "Bubba" Lollar on May 21, 2010, at Rader Funeral Home in Longview, Texas, at 2 PM. Officiating will be Pastor Dennis Elliott. Bubba was born in Conroe, Texas on April 24, 1947 and died on May 17, 2010, at his home in Hallsville, Texas. He has made Longview his home for the past 34 years.
He immediately found his passion and talent was making women smile through the creation of jewelry. He and his wife, Pam, opened Lollar's Jewelry in 1978, and for 32 years he has been known as one of the most prominent jewelers here in East Texas. Bubb's other passion was sports. He loved and respected the game of baseball and made sure he instilled the same competitiveness in his children. He went on to impact numerous children's lives in the community through his involvement and love in youth sports.
Bubba was loved and admired by his friends and family; and if there is one thing, that anyone can say about hism, is that he was a "man's man." He was honest, straight shooter, and no one ever questioned his integrity, love or loyalty, He served his country very proudly during the Vietnam War while stationed in Germany.
Bubba is survived by his wife, Pam, children, Shane, Cody and Jamie; along with his grandchildren, Maycie, Jess, Reagan and one more on the way. Also surviving is his sister, Sandi Bishop of Cleveland, Tennessee
