James R. Anderson's Obituary
Christian Mass for James R. Anderson Sr., age 80 of Henderson, will be celebrated at 10:00am Friday June 19, 2009 at St. Jude's Catholic Church with Father Jay Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakewood Memorial Park under the direction of the Rader Funeral Home of Henderson.
Mr. Anderson died Monday June 15, 2009 in a Tyler hospital after a brief illness.
James R. Anderson was born on December 8, 1928 in Alto. He graduated from Henderson High School – class of 47 and went on to Kilgore Jr. College, and later attended Texas University in Austin. Mr. Anderson married the love of his life Mary Ann Hacker in June of 1949, they were married over 53 years, raising 4 children together. He worked most of his life in management in feed milling and in heavy manufacturing. Upon semi-retirement, he worked for Henderson Flowers with his beloved wife, delivering floral arrangements, which brought joy to many people throughout the Henderson area.
Mr. Anderson enjoyed fishing, camping, and was an avid sports fan.
He was preceded in death by his father W.A."Abe" Anderson, his mother Thelma Anderson, his wife Mary Ann Anderson, and a son James R. "Jim" Anderson Jr.
Survivors include his daughter Pandy Allen & husband James Lee of Kilgore; sons Dickey L. Anderson Sr. of Kilgore, and Richard A. Anderson of Henderson; Grandchildren Matt Newcomb , Zack Anderson, Zeke Anderson, and Adrianne Anderson , D.J. Anderson , Heather Anderson, and 4 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Zack Anderson, Zeke Anderson, D.J. Anderson, James Lee Allen, David Lowry, and John Paul Hacker. Honorary pallbearer will be Burke Green.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6pm – 8pm at Rader Funeral Home.
