Funeral services for James Odell Poovey will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 23 in the First Baptist Church sanctuary with Robert Hall officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Rader Funeral Home. Burial will be in La Read Obituary

Poovey family: What a memorable man your father was. I know that he will be missed on earth, but Heaven is rejoicing. I understand the void left in your lives by the going home of your parents. They are together with the Lord and praising Him and basking in His Glory. No more pain-that is the best blessing of all. Our family lost our precious Daddy a week ago Joe Russo. Dear friends, we are both thinking of you and lift you up in prayer. Your daddy was a special man and he will be missed by all. We feel your loss losing Cliffs' Dad, Dr Hurt in October and just this week, my Daddy having gone to be with the Lord. We can make it with God's strength...only by His power and not on our own. There is such a great void that only God can feel. We can hold onto those blessed memories in our hearts! After all...we will see them again! :

Our sympathy is extended to each of you in the loss of your dad. We always enjoyed visiting with him and your mother when we were in Henderson. They were very special people to Travis's mom, Pill, which made them special to us also. Not only was Mr. Poovey a good photographer he was always the same when you met him in public where ever that might be. He always had a smile on his face and appeared to be in a friendly mood.He was one of the few "good" men left from his generation.He will be missed.
