James Earl Mizell's Obituary
James Earl Mizell passed away at home on Sunday, June 28, 2015.  He was preceded in death by his parents Bertha and John Mizell, and his brothers; Roger and Johnny Joe Mizell.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years and 10 months, Etta Rae Gibson Mizell, son Jimmy Mizell, daughter Kimberly Dixon, grandson Justin Dixon, great-grandson Gage Dixon, sisters; Betty McCracken and husband Johnny, and Patsy Thorton and husband Johnny.  James is also survived by his sister-in-law Shirley Mizell, many nieces and nephews, and his dog Buddy.
James retired from the Army as a Major with 20+ years of service to his country.  He then spent 20 years with Gum Springs Water.  He was on the city council for Hallsville for 28 years.  He was a member of the James F Taylor Masonic Lodge in Hallsville and was 32nd Masonic and Shiner.  James was also an active member, outrider and facility team member of the Cowboy Church of Harrison County.
Services for James will be held at the Cowboy Church of Harrison County on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 10am. A visitation will start one hour prior to the service at 9am.
