James Howell Lovelace's Obituary
James Howell “Bugs” Lovelace, 87, of Hallsville passed away on Sunday January 8, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Lovelace was born February 8, 1929 in Hallsville, Texas to Ernest and Connie Lovelace. He was a 1946 graduate of Hallsville High School. Mr. Lovelace worked for Texas Eastern Transmission Pipeline Company in Atlanta and Longview, Texas for nearly forty years before his retirement. He was a member of the Hallsville Lions Club, Hallsville “H” Association Lettermen Club as one of the oldest active remaining members. He was Citizen of the Year for Hallsville in 1991. Mr. Lovelace was a member of the Hallsville Church of Christ where he served as a deacon for many years.
Those left to cherish his memories are son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Trisha Lovelace; granddaughters and husbands, Tara and David Rangel and Lara and Ty Hood; four great-grandchildren, Christian and Aiden Rangel and Grant and Mckenna Hood along with nephew Charles Smith of Chicago, Illinois. His beloved wife Betty Vinson Lovelace, parents Connie and Ernest Lovelace, and sister Dorthy Smith preceded him in death. A special thank you to Genevieve Pearce who took care of him for the past year. Also, a special thank you to Dr. Sreeman Jampana and Care Team Hospice for their care. The family thanks the numerous friends who have visited and called during his illness.
Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Wednesday January 11, 2017 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 2 P.M. Burial will follow in Hallsville Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be given to Alpine Christian Academy where his great grandchildren attend.
