James L. ?Jim? Crittendon
Graveside services for James L. ?Jim? Crittenden, 76, of Longview will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at Rosewood Park with the Reverend Steve Coleman officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. He passed away Sunday morning, June 6, 2004 in Longview.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Crittenden was born February 18, 1928 in Burkburnett, TX., and had been a resident the Longview area since 1969. He enjoyed a career in the United States Air Force where he served in the Korean Conflict, having reached the rank of Master Sergeant. He retired after 22 years service. Mr. Crittenden played a very active role and was extremely involved in the lives of his grandchildren and was very concerned about their education. He was also very interested in politics and kept abreast of current world affairs. He grew up attending the Church of Christ.
Mr. Crittenden was preceded in death by his parents, Ike and Minnie Crittenden; his brother, Hal Crittenden; and his sisters, Idona Lucky, Viola Sanders, and Almeda Howard.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, Lee Crittenden of Longview; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Lanette Crittenden and their children, Ashley, Morgan, Rachel, all of Gilmer; Roger and Kathy Crittenden and their children, Trevor, Cecily and Sydney all of Longview; brother, Bill Crittenden of Pittsboro, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
