Jim Tachias, age 58 of Longview, Texas, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, August 10th after a brief but valiant battle with cancer. He passed from this world to the arms of his Savior with his loving wife, Raina at his side Read Obituary
I learned of Jim's passing today and feel heartbroken for his family and anybody he called a friend. I lost my mama, Susie Daniel, a little more than a year ago. Although she and Jim had been acquainted for much longer, I only came to know him since her passing. I appreciated his wise advice and took comfort in the familiar stories he shared with me regarding my mom. I know in just this short amount of time, I and my daughter, Katie, leaned on and trusted him just as my mom had for many years before. I believe he was a truly a Godsend to her and to us. I pray those who dearly loved him receive peace and strength as they face the world without his kindness and love. We will certainly miss such a good man.

I just met Jim in June. He came to our celebration of life for Spencer Sunstrum. He and Spencer were high school friends and I remember hearing so many stories about that time over the years. Jim was so thoughtful and sweet to come honor Spencer's memory and told me to please call him if I needed anything. I am so thankful I got to meet him. I will pray for your peace and comfort during this difficult time.
