James J. Jones
Funeral services for James J. Jones, 73, of Longview will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2007 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with the Reverend Dave Reeder officiating. Interment will be in Rosewood Park. He passed away Saturday, October 20 at a local hospital.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Jones was born November 8, 1933 in Hannibal, Missouri to Virgil and Glenna Jones and had been a resident of Longview since 1991. He attended LeTourneau University and was a retired electronics engineer with Texas Instruments. Mr. Jones was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and served in the Korean Conflict and was a Methodist.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 52 years, Christine Yvonne Jones; and his brother, Donald Ray Jones.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, James M. Jones of Longview and daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Greg Landis of Brownsville, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Lee Jones and Ali Christine Jones; sister, Jean Ann Reedy of Las Vegas; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved canine companion, ?Uncle Henry?.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Highway 80 Rescue Mission, 3117 W. Marshall Ave., Longview, TX 75604.
