James Benjamin (Jimmie) Hunt of Hallsville died peacefully on Sunday April 12 after several months of illness. Jimmie was born in Hallsville and lived there for most of his life. His parents were Shirley Lee Hunt and Georgia Alm Read Obituary
Mr. Hunt was a great man. The funniest memory I have of him was being called into the principal office for a boy having his arm around me. We were either in fifth or sixth grade. We were both in trouble with him, but he was very nice whenever he reprimanded us. He made sure that we both knew that was not allowed in school
He will definitely be missed.

I enjoyed all the visits I had with Mr Hunt. He will be greatly missed.
Mr. Hunt was my principal at HHS from 1963 until 1967, he was a wonderful man and will be missed by all that knew him!
Mr. Hunt went to high school with my dad and after my dad passed several years ago, Mr. Hunt was the one connection I had to my dad and he talked about him often. My grandkids really enjoyed sitting next to him at church. His childhood stories really meant a lot to me and I will miss him deeply.
I am so sad for the loss of Mr. Hunt. He was a wonderful Principal during my high-school years at HHS. Kind and considerate, and very compassionate toward his students. He set the example for us to follow!
