James Richard Hughes, Sr.
Funeral services for James Richard Hughes, Sr., 86, of Longview, TX will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2016, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Longview, TX officiated by Bro. Scott Darby of First Baptist Church in Cason, TX. Burial services will follow at the Mausoleum Chapel at Rosewood Park Cemetery in Longview, TX. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Richard was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving for 4 years. He was baptized at the age of 22 and was of the Baptist faith. Richard worked for Lone Star Steel and retired after 30 years.
Richard was born to Sam and Evie Hughes April 5, 1930 and passed away Wednesday August 3, 2016. He was preceded in death by parents, four brothers C.L. Hughes, Virgil Hughes, Carroll Hughes, Billy Hughes, Sister Eunice McGahe, and one grandson Kevin Hughes.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Frances M. Hughes of Longview. He is also survived by Son’s; Dickie and wife Debi Hughes of Daingerfield, TX, David and wife Donna Hughes of Hughes Springs, TX; Two Sisters Gladys Grier and Lawana Kizer; Grandchildren Tiffanie and husband Stephen Falgout of Redwater, TX, Chris and wife Autumn Hughes of Hallsville, TX, Brian S. and wife Lindsey Hughes of Daingerfield, TX, Wendy and husband Randy Gay of Tyler, TX, Brian D. and wife Robin Hughes of Diana, TX, Shelbi and husband Chris Joy of Bullard, TX, Chad and wife Valentina Bearden of Moscow, Russia, and Kelly and husband Tommy Jenkins of Daingerfield, TX; Great Grandchildren Faith Hughes, Tristan Hughes, Ariana Hughes, Warren Falgout, Brooke Falgout, Aniston Joy, Jager Joy, Bristan Hughes, Rale Hughes, Hallie Jenkins, and Parker Jenkins; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Jim Fred and Carolyn Smith and Sue and Robert Childress for their love and support in times of need.
Pallbearers will be Randy Gay, Brian D. Hughes, Brian S. Hughes, Chris Hughes Milton Hughes and Chris Joy. Honorary pallbearers will be Sammy Hughes and Virgil McGahe.
