James Houston Dickerson, Jr.
Funeral services for James Houston Dickerson, Jr., 59, of Longview will be held at 2 PM Saturday, March 2, 2002 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with the Reverends William Hansen and Ira Cook officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. He died Thursday, February 28, 2002 in Longview. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Dickerson was born November 2, 1942 in Houston, and grew up in Longview. He graduated from Longview High School in 1962, and was a graduate of Lamar University in Beaumont, with a B.A. in History. He also graduated from the Southwestern Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth with a Master of Divinity. He moved to Michigan for 10 years, and served as a Mission Pastor, and moved back to Longview in 1984. He was employed by Trinity Schools of Texas in maintenance and was a former employee of David Stewart Construction Co. at Texas Eastman. He was an active member of Forrest Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Dickerson was preceded in death by his parents, J. H. ''Hoot''
and Sue Dickerson.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Charlotte Dickerson of Longview and his sister, Mary Nell ''Maria'' Brathe of Ft. Mills, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
