JAMES ?POPS? GOYNES
Services for James ?Pops? Goynes , 60, of Longview will be 10 Am Friday, September 19th at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with David Mayhan officiating. Interment will be 1 PM at the Smyrna Cemetery near Atlanta, Texas. Mr. Goynes died Sept. 16th at a Longview nursing facility.
He was born at Atlanta, Texas on Sept. 17, 1943 to Hershel and Willie Marie Spearman Goynes. Mr. Goynes had resided in Longview most of his life. He was a machinist and a member of the Baptist Faith.
Mr. Goynes was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Fuslier and is survived by his children: daughter, Jeannette Wasson of Gladewater; a son, James Earnest Goynes, Jr. of Florida; and daughters, Angela Chambers and Deanne Gibson, both of Glenwood; Grandchildren: Sean and Kerry Lane, Daniel and Dayna Chambers, Hanna Goynes, Megan and Cody Gibson; brother, George Goynes of Bright Star, Arkansas and sister, Stella Porterfield of Belton, Texas.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening 6 to 8 PM.
