James Cowger
James Cowger died August 26, 2002. He was born on December 27, 1923 and lived his entire life in the Longview area. James started his adult life at 17 years of age by joining the Navy to serve his country in World War 2. James was married to his beloved wife Reva on his return from the service. Reva preceded James in death in 1989.
He is survived by Jana Renee Kuykendall and Chris Randell. Another son James Cowger lives in George West, Texas. He is also survived by three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Special grandchild Kortnee and Lisa White and James Cowger. Great granddaughters Kathryn and Caroline White of Fairhope, Alabama and several other nieces and nephews, His special friend Catherine Birdwell also survive him.
James was a Baptist. His business life included several professions. Among them, he was a licensed hair stylist, auctioneer, and linotype operator in his younger years. He was involved for many years in a Real Estate partnership with Reva. James was a homebuilder and de-veloper. He loved golf and lived around Lake Cherokee all his later life.
Funeral services will be held at Ten O?clock a.m. Wednesday August 28, 2002 in the Rader Funeral Home Chapel 1617 Judson Road. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday August 27, 2002 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
