I have such fond memories of Uncle James. I especially remember he always brought me and my twin brother, Steve, a silver dollar every time he came to see us in Jefferson. When something crosses my mind that chases me back to my childhood, his jolly laugh always makes me smile. How wonderful he and Aunt Jennie Lou were married 72 years. Uncle James had a long fulfilled life with many family members and friends who will remember him with love and smiles.

My grandmother,Tahlula H. Henderson was James C. Henderson and Anne Staten Whitfield daughter. Mr. Edward C. Conner was her half brother, His mother was Jennie Leake and they are all buried here in Daingerfield. My mother was Willie Collins Garrett.
