James William "Billy" Chaffin's Obituary
James William Chaffin, 62, of White Oak passed away after a brief illness at Longview Regional Hospital.
He was born in Denison, TX on January 2, 1956. He was a police officer, serving the communities of Gregg County, Gladewater, and White Oak with the bulk of his career served in White Oak from May of 1991 until his retirement in January of 2010. Billy also worked as a truck mechanic and in his younger years he worked in the poultry industry in Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his mother May Katherine Cirkles of White Oak, TX. and his father William Chaffin of Bonham, TX.
James is survived by his wife Tammy Chaffin of White Oak, his step-daughter Tasha Edmonds and her husband Patrick Edmonds of Greenville, Mi., step-daughter Stormee Stanley of Remus, MI, a step-son Cody Miller of Hemlock, Mi., his father-in-law Gary Hansen of Greenville, Mi., brother-in-law Brian Hansen of Greenville, Mi., grandchildren Kylee and Tanner Edmonds of Greenville, Mi., grandchildren Mason and Ian Smallwood of Remus, MI, and granddaughter Ari-Onna Miller of Hemlock, Mi.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in his name at the White Police Department, White Oak Fire Department, or the American Heart Association.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 18, 2018 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
