Mr. O'Bryant won his victory to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at a Longview hospital. He was born May 11, 1937 in Detroit, MI to James, Sr. and Marie O'Bryant. He started his lifelong ambition of owning his own company 41 years ago. In 1974, he moved to Hallsville and was the owner of Century Corrugated Container. His ambition was to have something to leave his children, which he did. Through many trials and tribulations, he finally met his goal.
During his lifetime, he was involved in numerous activities involving his children, grandchildren and great grandson, such as being assistant Cubmaster for Pack 302 for grandsons, and being an active Pack member for his sons. His many hobbies were camping, motorcycle riding and boating, and dancing with his wife.
Mr. O'Bryant was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joe O'Bryant; mother-in-law, Florence Moores; nephew, Wayne O'Bryant; and nieces, Pat Kitay and Kay Kitay.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Freddie O'Bryant; children, Tim O'Bryant, Chris Viduya, Shannon O'Bryant and wife Julie and William O'Bryant and wife Vickie; grandchildren, Jordan Miller and husband James, Nikki Curtis and husband Brandon, Michael Humphries, Morgan Boyd, Jenna O'Bryant, Blake Lucius and wife Whitney, Steven Lucius, Matt Viduya, Dalton O'Bryant and Taylor O'Bryant; great grandchildren, Brandon Curtis, Jr. and Brentley Lucius; sister-in-law, Sharon O'Bryant; and sisters, Nina Garrett and husband Jerry and Jenet Melton and husband Albert; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their great appreciation to Dr. Dontay and Dr. Reddy, and to the entire staff of the fourth floor at Good Shepherd Medical Center. Their courtesies and kindness will not be forgotten.
He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him;
especially his wife Freddie.
