Graveside services for James B. Russell, 82, of Longview will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, October 16, 2001 at Memory Park Cemetery with the Reverend Philip Jones officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Monday at Rader Funeral Home of Longview. He died, Saturday, October 13, in Longview. Mr. Russell was born November 1, 1918 in Leflor, Oklahoma, to A. J. and Amanda Russell. On March 27, 1945, he married Maureen Blakely. She preceded him in death. Mr. Russell came to the oil field in East Texas in 1931. He grew up in Kilgore, and during WWII, he worked in the Naval shipyard. After the war, he returned to East Texas Salt Water March 6, 1944 and retired March 1, 1985, after 41 years of service. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Longview Survivors include his brothers, David J. Russell and his wife Bobbie, and Jesse L. Russell and his companion Arlene.
