Virgil Allred's Obituary
James “Virgil” Allred, age 75, was born December 15, 1949, in Natalia, Texas. He passed away peacefully at home on November 19, 2025. He was the youngest of five children born to Leland “Dick” and Lois Allene Allred.
Virgil built a long and dedicated career at Texas Utilities/Luminant, where he later retired. He will always be remembered for his friendly smile, sense of humor, and competitive spirit. He loved to travel, play golf, horseshoes, 42 dominoes and just about any game.
He was a devoted father and granddad who never missed a chance to support his children and grandchildren. Family was always at the center of his life.
Virgil met the love of his life, Virginia, in October of 2014. They shared many wonderful years together traveling and spending time with family and friends. They were married on October 19, 2025, after sharing more than a decade of life and love together.
Virgil was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Melody Jill Allred.
He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Allred; his daughter Amy Beall and husband Billy; grandchildren Macy Brown and Gavin Beall; siblings Emily Zamora and husband Mario, Evelyn Barber and husband Ronnie, Steve Allred, and Joe “Dicky” Allred and wife Tish; brother-in-law Jim Heslep and wife Fran; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and their spouses.
He is also survived by his bonus family: Melissa Goss and husband Reagan, Valorie Denfeld, Hunter Bartley, Kody Goss, Butch Wyatt and wife Lois, W.C. Wyatt and wife Charlene, Sammy Wyatt and wife Pat, and Janet Anderson and husband Mark; and is preceded in loving memory by Virginia’s son, Jason Bartley.

A celebration of Virgil's life will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at the chapel of Rader Funeral Home at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jim Heslep officiating. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 1:00 - 2:00 PM.
