Funeral services for James A. Sapp, 74, of Longview will be held at 3:30 PM Saturday, May 10, 2003 in the Lakeview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with the Reverend Kenneth Mills officiating. Entombment will be under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. He died Thursday, May 8, 2003 in a Longview hospital.
Mr. Sapp was born June 19, 1928 in El Dorado, AR., and had been a resident of Longview since 1965. He moved to Longview from Illinois. He was a retired welder for LeTourneau, Inc. and Trinity Industries. He was a 32 degree Mason and a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Iris Sapp of Longview; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Faye Sapp of Burleson, TX.; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Phil Shafer of Kell, IL.; sisters, Pat Simms of Ft. Worth and Susan Sapp of Odessa; grandchildren, Christopher Sapp and his fiancée, Staci, and Douglas Sapp all of Burleson, and Amy McLean and her husband Derek of Salem, Illinois; and great grandson, Giulian.
