James A. Goble
Graveside services for James A. Goble, 87, of Abilene, will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, at Rock Springs Cemetery in Gladewater with Pastor H. G. Barnard, Pastor of Elmdale Baptist Church of Elmdale, officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview, Texas. He passed away Saturday, August 3, 2002 in Abilene. Mr. Goble was born March 5, 1915 in Sullivan, Indiana, to Walter and Elta Goble, former residents of Longview, and was a former resident of Odessa. He was a retired oil field pumper with Amaco. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Knights of Pythias, and was a deacon in the Southern Baptist Church. Mr. Goble was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marie Goble, sisters, Belle Goble and Virginia Holloway. Survivors include his daughter, Darlene West of Abilene; son, James B. Goble of Chula Vista, California; brother, Paul A. Goble of Longview; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wylie Baptist Church Building Fund, 6097 Buffalo Gap Rd., Abilene, Texas 79606.
