Jackie Walker
Graveside services with military honors for Jackie Walker, 78, of Longview will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at Memory Park, Longview, under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Walker was born July 5, 1936, in Ore City, TX to Julious and Blanche Walker and passed away Thursday morning, April 30, 2015 in a Longview hospital. He was a lifetime resident of Longview and was the retired owner/operator of Walker Paint Contractors. He was a Baptist and a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Walker was very active in the Longview Boys Baseball Association. He was an avid fisherman and his friends and family called him the “Fish God”.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Letha Walker; brothers, Bill, Donald, Roger and Curtis; and his sister, Delores Wilgus.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Jamie Walker and wife Dixie of Longview, Stacy Walker and wife Dena of Ft. Worth, and Jerry Walker of Dallas; grandchildren, Mark and Lita Walker, Laci Walker and Chris Britton, Austin and Cody Walker and their mother, Patty Walker, Austin Grinnell and Tyler Walker and their mother Chere` Dean, and Sam and Max Mattingly; brothers, Jim Ed Walker and wife Donna of Longview, David Walker and wife Linda of Marshall and Gary Walker and wife Pat of Florida; father-in-law, C. S. Bryant; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Adrain and Sandra Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews.
