Jackie Lea Tevis' Obituary
Services for Jackie Lea Tevis, 52, of Longview will be held on Friday, August 20th, at Sorden-Lewis Funeral Home in Lone Tree, Iowa. Jackie passed way from a terminal illness at her home in Longview on Sunday, August 15, 2010.
She was the daughter of Oliver Kenneth Hoffman and Elizabeth Ann Simmons. Jackie was born in Apple Valley, California on August 28, 1957. She graduated from Lone Tree High School in May 1975. She graduated from the University of Iowa in May 1982 with a bachelor's degree in business. She married Jay in June 1982. They moved to Longview in 2007 so Jay could teach at LeTourneau University. She was a devoted wife and mother and loved to cook, sew, and knit. Jackie was preceded in death by her grandparents and her stepfather Dallas Simmons.
Jackie is survived by her husband Jay-Evan Jacob Tevis of Longview; children Rachel, Lindsey, and Benjamin Tevis of Longview; mother Betty Simmons of Lone Tree, Iowa; father Kenny Hoffman of Mason City, Iowa; stepsisters Tammy Simmons and Wanda Magruder; and stepbrother Dallas Simmons II.
