Jack Henry Williams, 90, of Longview, Texas passed away Friday, July 24, 2020. Jack was a 1947 graduate of Sabine High School, attended Kilgore College and joined the United States Marine Corps in November 1947. Jack loved to tell Read Obituary
To Jack's family, I would like to say how much he loved you. He spoke of Hilda often and was so proud of all of you. Working side by side together at the Ambulatory Center, we shared many hours and got to know each other very well. I honestly can say, he was one of the sweetest men I have ever known. We had hundreds of conversations and I had the opportunity to hear many funny stories of him and the family, including Chico. I always told him that I fully understood his success in life, he had the ability to make people feel good with his smiles and gentle ways. Volunteering his time, he made both the staff and the patients feel loved. Every year during the holidays, he came with homemade candy that he had crafted. He always told me he had removed the calories when he prepared it. After I retired, the doorbell rang one day and there was Jack with a plate of homemade sweets for my husband and I. I feel God blessed my life by letting me know and love Mr Jack and I know I will see him again in our heavenly home. Until then I will cherish my memories.

I knew Jack from the UHL Gym. Every morning I would get a Hug from Jack the first thing when I would get to the gym. I have never known a better man. He helped me deal with the fact I was going to need a Pacemaker, and helped me when I would have doubts and needed to talk to someone about it. He was funny, friendly and loving, and we all like to talk to him. He gave me the Open Door Cookbook that he and Hilda did for their Sunday School Class. I will treasure it always. Going back to the gym, will never be the same. I truly loved Jack. As did my husband George. They had lots of OiL Field Tales to exchange.

What a consummate gentleman Uncle Jack was! His timely laughter at the most trivial, or most terrible parts of life's circumstances was nothing shy of amazing. It was therapeutic to just to be with him...In as much as I'll miss him, I will forever be grateful for his kindness, generosity, intersest in our lives, and love.
Was so sorry to learn of Jack’s passing. He will certainly be missed by me, and all our Open Door Sunday School Class. Also our new class that we are with now, “The Sunriser’s”.
I had the honor of knowing Mr Jack as a volunteer at GSASC Ambulatory surgical Center..He was the most sweetest man you could ever want to meet .I will always remember his sweet hugs and listen to him talk about his wife you could just feel the love he had for his wife and one of his saying about his wife is she may not know who I am some days but I always know who she is..we all loved Mr Jack and praying for the family.
I got to know Mr. Jack at Buckner Wesminster Place. Miss Hilda and my mom were in the Harbor together. On most days, Mom and Miss Hilda would sit at the same table for lunch. That is how I got to know Mr. Jack. When I would come in and see him sitting there, I knew I was about to get another good story. He had some good ones. I always looked forward to the visit. He was a good man. Prayers for the family that God will give you comfort and peace.

I met Jack on the same incredible weekend that I met the whole family, the family I never knew I had. His quiet kindness was both immediate and so very memorable. Then, and now, I admired his strength and cheerful demeanor. If I could be half the man that Jack was I would consider my life to be a success. I had the privilege of working with Jack at Good Shepherd. He was the ultimate volunteer and gentleman. And, he was the most loyal and loving husband to Hilda, whom I adored as well.

Mr. Jack will truly be missed at the Surgery Center. We all loved & admired him dearly, but his "Heavenly" home will accept and love him more.
