Jack Weldon Puckett
Funeral Services for Jack Weldon Puckett, 74, of White Oak, will be held at Noon Monday, March 15, 2004 at the Holy Trinity U.C.C. Church, 3800 Judson Road, with the Reverend Ray Boulter of-ficiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview, 1617 Judson Road.
Mr. Puckett was born on November 13, 1929 in Leo, Texas to Lee Gree and Cor-da Puckett. He passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2004 at his residence ending a courageous battle with cancer.
He was an avid fisherman and gardener, and he enjoyed bowling in several leagues with his wife, but more than anything, he enjoyed his wife, kids, and grandkids. Mr. Puckett served his country with the United States ARMY during in the Korean War. He worked as a Senior Electrical Engineer for Texas Power & Light in Dallas from 1959 ~ 1974, and then for Texas Utilities at Martin Lake Power Plant from 1974 until retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers, and a very active member of the Holy Trinity U.C.C. Church in Longview where he served on the administration board, and was an active member of the Acrlton Sunday School Class.
A loving husband, father, and grandfather, he was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Eulice Hudson; three brothers, Oland E. Puckett, Lee Bernice Puckett, and Neal B. Puckett. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carolyn Puckett of White Oak; son and daughter-in-law, David and Barbara Puckett of White Oak; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Billy Sallee of White Oak, Denise and Stewart Green of Longview, granddaughters, Katie and Allie Puckett of White Oak, Sydney, Shelby, and Spencer Sallee of White Oak, Alex Green of Long-view; grandson, Jackson Green of Longview; sister, Inell Barnett of Denton; brothers, Sammy Puckett of Era, Paul Puckett of Hurst; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 PM Sunday, March 14, 2004 at the fu-neral home.
