Jack Lavonde Teegardin
Longview – Jack L. Teegardin, 79, went to his heavenly home on the morning of Sunday, December 20, 2015. Jack was born July 5, 1936, in Defiance, Ohio to Lavonde William Crawford Teegardin and Helen Iona Miller-Teegardin.
Jack was an accountant by trade and a woodworker in the RV industry. His favorite past-time, other than spending time with family, driving his grandkids around on his John Deere (back-in-the-day), was model railroading and camping. Jack is a member of “Our Redeemer Lutheran Church” of Longview. Jack has resided at Haven Care nursing home the last year and half battling Parkinson’s. He is affectionately referred to as ‘Papa Jack’ by family, friends, the nurses and caregivers, as well as residents at Haven Care.
Jack is survived by his soulmate, wife, Elizabeth (Ann) Teegardin, son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Diane Teegardin of Longview, daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Isaac Cantu of Milford, IN, daughter and son-in-law, Laura and John Stayton of Bourbon, IN, daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Pete Nitti of DFW, son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Claire Teegardin of Maiden, NC, 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation, followed by a service will be held at “Our Redeemer Lutheran Church” on Judson Road on Monday, December 28th beginning at 1pm.
We will miss you dearly, Papa Jack, and our hearts are broken, but we know you are in the arms of Our Loving Father above and reunited with loved ones.
