Jack Rae's Obituary
LONGVIEW- A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Jack Smith Rae, 80, of Hallsville, Texas, at 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at Alpine Church of Christ. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, August , 1at Rader Funeral Home in Longview. Mr. Rae completed his earthly journey on July 29, 2017 in Longview.
Mr. Rae was born on December 20, 1936 to Thomas and Bessie Rae. He was employed with Eastman Kodak until his retirement in 1993 after 34 years of service. He was a lifelong dedicated member of Alpine Church of Christ.
Mr. Rae was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He loved his family, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He greatly enjoyed fishing with his boys, hunting with his dad, brothers, and sons, playing dominoes with the Rae men, and drinking coffee with the “old men”. He was an avid and dedicated Texas Longhorns fan through thick and thin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Thomas A. Rae Jr. and Max Rae, of Longview, one sister, Francis Ivey of Temple, and one grandson, Daniel Rae of Hallsville.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ginny Rae of Hallsville, one sister, Juanita Rae Patrick of Longview, children, Gary Rae and wife Kathy, Kyle Rae, Alex Rae and wife Candy, Lauralee Rae Gibson and husband David, Sara Henry and husband Alvin, Jesse Mahan, Joy Miller and husband Jamie, Bubba Rae, Lanie Pierce and husband Bubba, 23 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and numerous family members and friends.
