Jack Orval Gusner's Obituary
Visitation for Jack Orval Gusner, 73, of Longview will be Monday evening from 6-8:30 PM at Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. Gusner passed away Friday morning in a local hospital. Services and burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., April 14, 2007, at Greenlawn River Mortuary in Bakersfield, CA.
Jack was born on November 15, 1933 in Bakersfield, CA to John and Ollie Gusner. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corp. He started his family with his wife Bea in Santa Barbara, CA, where he worked as a civil engineer with Caltrans for 28 years.. Mr. Gusner had a life long love of science fiction, sports cars, electronics, Pomeranians, and travel to the Yosemite Valley. Nothing held greater importance to him than his love of God, his beautiful wife and their four children. Mr. Gusner has counted several pets as his close companions throughout the years, including Lady, Bambi, Cinder, Lacy and presently Misty.
Mr. Gusner came to Longview in 1990 to manage day to day operations of Longview Electric. He went on to form Cobblestone Industries Inc. and manufactured various metal parts for the plastics industry. He closed the business and retired for the second time in 2005. He LOVED spending time in his well equipped shop which became a favorite spot for his friends to drop by and visit.
He was preceded in death by his parents and twin daughters Jackie and Jennifer Gusner.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Bea Gusner of Longview; children, Janell and Dave Tofanelli of Thousand Oaks, CA., Julie and Mark Luoma of High Point, NC., Jolene and Jon Anderson of Roanoke, VA, and John and Penny Gusner of Lake Mary, FL; 7 grandchildren, Taryn, Austin, Evan, Erin, Griffin, Lena and Kara; brother Darrell Gusner of Cambria, CA; half sister Joyce Kitchen and half brother John E. Gusner.
