Graveside services for Jack Oliver, 88, of Longview will be held at 11 AM Monday, February 25, 2008 at in the Rosewood Park Mausoleum with Reverend David Dusek officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 PM, this evening at the funeral home. Mr. Oliver was born on January 4, 1920 in Durant, OK to Johnny and Ollie Mae Oliver. He passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2008 in a Longview hospital. He served his country with the United States Navy, and he owned and operated Jack's Shoe Store. A loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, he was preceded in death in 2003 by his loving wife, Helen. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Joe Stafford of Evansville, ID; son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Diann Oliver of Longview; grandchildren, Jackie Kureska, Julie Weeks, Gina Branch, Janet Oliver, Jamie Lancaster; as well as ten great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in honor of Mr. Oliver to: Children's and Youth Ministries of White Oak Community Church, 1501 N. White Oak Road, White Oak, Texas 75693.
