Jack I. Mikels' Obituary
Jack I. "Tiny" Mikels, age 79, passed away at home in Longview March 5, 2012
He was born June 3, 1932 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Vernie and Rose Mikels.
Growing up Jack attended local schools in Bartlesville and graduated from high school there. After high school Jack enlisted into the United States Navy and for the next 20 years served our country during the Korean and Viet Nam wars.
In 1964 Jack met Barbara Roberts then on October 8 of that year they were married. In May of 1998 they moved to Longview. Jack was a member of the American Legion.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Barbara Mikels of Longview,
grandson, Jason Thomas Mikels, and daughter-in-law, Sonja Vaeth both of Rowlett, Texas. He is preceded in passing by his dear son, James E. Mikels and his parents.
There will be a memorial service for Jack Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Rader Funeral Home, Longview starting at 4 pm. Officiating will be Rev David Farmer. Arrangements are under the care of Rader Funeral Home, Longview.
