Jack Keithly Fenton's Obituary
Jack Keithly Fenton was born to George and Mildred Phelps Fenton on July 14, 1931 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He passed away on February 10, 2024 at Legend Oaks Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Gladewater.
He grew up in Palestine, Texas where he graduated from high school. He went to college at East Texas Baptist College where he met his wife, Elizabeth Glanton. After marrying Beth, he proudly served in the United States Navy for four years. They were blessed with four children, making their home in Corpus Christi, Longview, and Houston, and back to Longview to enjoy their retirement years. He worked for Hughes Tool and Schlumberger designing various components for the trucks that went out into the oil field. During retirement, he enjoyed many activities with his church like singing in the choir and participating in service projects. He was a very talented woodworker making furniture and working with Habitat for Humanity. He enjoyed traveling, helping his neighbors, and creating a space in his beloved wood shop for his grandkids to create pieces of art.
He is preceded in death by his wife; parents; brothers George, Howard, Larry, and sister Linda.
He is survived by his daughters Ann Fenton, Brenham, TX; Gay (Sherald) Bell, Brenham, TX; Jackie (Bob) Myers, Mission Viejo, CA; and son Gary (Cheryl) Fenton, North Andover, MA.; grandchildren Chris Bell, Jenny Van Dorf, Sarah Turner, and Josh Fenton; great grandchildren Lydia Fenton, Logan Fenton, and Zoey Turner; sisters Betty Lasiter, Ann Myers, and Barbara Posey, and numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be Friday, February 16, from 5:00-7:00pm at Rader Funeral Home in Longview, 1617 Judson Rd., Longview, TX 75601.The Funeral Service will be Saturday, February 17 at 10:00am in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd., Longview, TX75601.
