Jack Curtis' Obituary
Jack Curtis died peacefully June 25, 2004, surrounded by a loving family, in Longview, Texas. Born March 22, 1918 in Waco, Texas, Jack graduated Baylor Law School and served in the U.S. Border Patrol before entering the Army Counter Intelligence Corps in WWII. A successful business and civic leader, Jack owned and operated an independent insurance agency in Garland, Texas for more than 30 years where he was active in the Masonic Lodge, Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club. He served as District Governor for Rotary International and was chosen a Paul Harris Fellow before traveling extensively in North America, Mexico and Europe as a goodwill ambassador. He was preceded in death by his wife Prudence Ann and brothers Eugene and Earl. Jack Curtis is survived by his wife, Mavis Curtis, son James Curtis of Fort Worth and Daughter Leanne Curtis of Dallas. A loving family of step-children, grand-children and great-grandchildren will miss his constant smile and loving guidance.
