We always greatly enjoyed being with Uncle Jack when he would come through Chicago. He took time and interest to visit me at work. He was always warm and engaging and had a gentle and generous spirit. And I loved the way he would talk to his ball in flight on the golf course.

Our condolences to you all on the passing of your father. Uncle Jack was an interesting guy, and we always enjoyed his visits with Aunt Jeanette to Chicago. He had a lot of great stories, about growing up in a family of four brothers, about living in San Francisco and his service in the South Pacific, and about their travels around the world keeping tabs on Jeanne, perhaps?? I also had the pleasure of visiting him and Jeanette in Longview several times, and I remember playing a round of golf with him once at Pinecrest. Afterwards, they took me out in Longview for my first catfish dinner â?? this Yankee never ate catfish in those days!
He also was happy to share the latest news about his family, and I remember how much each of you meant to him. I know how much youâ??ll miss him, but the lifetime of memories shared between you all will also make this a special time.
