We always greatly enjoyed being with Uncle Jack when he would come through Chicago. He took time and interest to visit me at work. He was always warm and engaging and had a gentle and generous spirit. And I loved the way he would talk to his ball in flight on the golf course.

Please accept our condolences on the loss of your father. Uncle Jack was a wonderful guy, and I admired him greatly. I have wonderful memories of what I believe was the last time that he, dad, Uncle George and Uncle Bob were together, shortly before Dad has his stroke. They played a round of golf at Cog Hill Country Club, and Carl, George and I played with them. I wish I had a recording of the conversation at the 19th hole. Such great stories and wonderful memories were shared. They really enjoyed being together that day. Mom kept a picture of the four of them from that outing on her dresser until she passed in April.
We pray that God will grant you strength and peace in the days ahead. I still reach for the telephone to call Mom once a week or so, and I know that you will continue to experience grief over the months ahead. But we can take comfort in the assurance that we will all be reunited around the throne of our Lord and Savior.
