Irene Lux's Obituary
Irene Hughes Lux of Longview passed away April 13, 2013 in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 4, 1925 in O'Donnell, Texas to Hardy Austin and Fannie Mae Murray Hughes. She graduated from the Texas School for the Deaf where she met her future husband, Melvin Lux. He preceded her in death after a marriage of 56 years.
Mrs. Lux retired from East Texas Medical Center, Tyler, as a Dietary Supervisor. She was of the Baptist denomination.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Sonny and Teresa Lux of Longview; her grandchildren Clinton Lux of Florida, Jennifer and Chris Bethard of Longview, and Benny and Angie Lux of Longview; and her great-grandchildren Shelby Lux, Hunter Bethard, Aly Bethard, Riley Lux and Cooper Lux. She leaves behind brothers Clayton Hughes, Doug Hughes, Frank Hughes, and Robert Hughes; and sister Louise Evans.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 18, 2013, at 2:00 pm at Rader Funeral Home in Longview. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, April 17, 2013 from 6 until 8 pm at Rader Funeral Home in Longview.
