INEZ LOLLAR GEISTMAN
Inez Lollar Geistman died Monday, December 18, 2006 in Bedford, Texas. She was 88. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM, Friday December 22, 2006 in the Rosewood Mausoleum Chapel at Rosewood Park Cemetery with Rev. Rita Sims of Winterfield United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Veterans? Garden at Rosewood Park.
Inez was born January 5, 1918 in the Prairie View Community, Jones County, Texas to John Anderson and Ella Smith Lollar. She graduated from Anson High School and attended Hardin Simmons University where she met the love of her life, Julius J.L. Geistman. They were married June 7, 1938 and had celebrated their 67th anniversary prior to J.L.?s death, September 11, 2005. Inez was a dedicated homemaker, wife and mother. Always a Texan, family devotion and interest had Inez and J.L. living in Harlingen, Rio Hondo, Lubbock, Levelland, and finally settling in the late 1970?s in Longview.
Inez was a private but social person; always principled, proper, fun-loving and highly dedicated and devoted to her family. She nurtured her family spiritually and in so many other ways. Her family was able to face the challenges of life because of the unquestionable and unfailing love that Inez had for them. She was an outstanding cook, a talented seamstress, immaculate housekeeper, chauffer, occasional nurse and an indispensable support system. Inez helped J.L. with the business and family bookkeeping and in anyway that she could be of assistance. She loved to go to the ?Ranchito? with J.L. and enjoy nature. In Inez?s earlier days, she loved to travel and was always involved in study clubs, Bible studies and her children?s church and school activities. She had a beautiful alto voice and loved to sing, listen to music and dance, but playing Bridge was her passion. Shuffle the cards, Lord, here comes Inez.
Inez is preceded in death by her husband J.L. Geistman. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gerry and Dale Woods of Grapevine, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Jan Geistman of Horseshoe Bay, Texas; granddaughter, Natalie Geistman also of Horseshoe Bay; sister-in-law, Clara Weir, of Abilene, Texas and numerous nephews, nieces and friends. The family knows that Inez would want to thank and express her love and give a hug, as does the family, to the doctors, medical staff and caregivers involved in her life over the last couple of years. Special thanks goes to Boe, Pam and Peyton for their loving care.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM, Thursday, December 21, 2006 at Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd., Longview, Texas. A memorial guestbook is available at www.raderfh.com
