Funeral services for Inez Dorsey, 83, of Longview will be held at Noon Wednesday, February 7, 2007 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with the Dr. Jim Lewis and Reverend David Farmer officiating. Burial will follow in Gum Springs Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview, 1617 Judson Road.
Mrs. Dorsey was born on March 3, 1923 in Longview to G.T. ?Tom? and Nina Cobb Kuykendall. She passed away on Monday, February 5, 2007 at her residence.
She was retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co., and a lifelong member of the First Christian Church where she was active in the Cornerstone Class. After retirement, Roy and Inez along with their best friends, Roy and Vida, traveled extensively, exploring all 50 states and Canada
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Mrs. Dorsey was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Lois Mann. She is survived by her husband with whom she would have celebrated her 60th Wedding Anniversary on Feb 6, 2007, Roy Dorsey of Longview; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah & Denny Jernigan of Carthage; grandchildren, Denise Jernigan of Dallas, and Amy Jernigan of Richardson; brother and sister-in-law, Tommie and Lois Kuykendall of Longview; sister-in-law, Wilma Stracener of Longview; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Betty Dorsey of Wichita Falls; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in honor of Mrs. Dorsey to: First Christian Church, 720 N. 6th St., Longview, Texas 75601, First United Methodist Church of Carthage, 201 S. Shelby, Carthage, Texas 75633 or a charity of choice.
