Ina Mildred S. Boozer Evans
Ina Mildred S. Boozer Evans, 89, a retired employee of the City of Longview, passed away, Saturday, April 9, 2005 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 12, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd., Longview, with the Reverend Nolan Richey and Buddy Willeford officiating.
Visitation will be Monday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mildred was a member of Mobberly Baptist Church since the late 1930?s. She was a member of the Longview 610 O.E.S., and received her 50 year award a few years ago.
She retired from the City of Longview after 17 plus years in the Vital Statistics and Water Departments. She also worked for several other places, John C. Murphy Paint and Paper Co., and Thompson?s Department Store as a manager.
Mildred was born in Naples, Texas, Morris County to James ?E.D.? Strickland and Lura A. Price Strickland on August 19, 1915, and was a graduate of Paul Pewitt High School.
She was preceded in death by her Dad, Mother, 3 brothers, and 5 sisters, and her first husband of 22 years, Curtis Boozer.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 22 plus years, Howard Evans, Step-daughter and Son-in-law, Carmen and Weldon E. Lewis; step granddaughters, Pamela and Kristi Lewis; 3 step great grandchildren, Tyler, Brittani, and Cameron Wade Anderson; several nieces & nephews from both families.
Mildred loved her church and friends of Mobberly Baptist Church, and attended regularly until her health began to fail. She loved Dr. M. Schottstaedt and the entire staff and employees of Greater Hospice of Texas, Inc. here in Longview. Every one of them were dedicated people and all services were ?tops?. Big ?Thanks? also goes to the sitters and aids who helped.

Pallbearers will be E. J. Blackmon, W. S. Brightwell, Dan Rogers, B. F. Waldron, H. N. ?Tiny? Walton, and Bill Warrick. Honorary pallbearers will be Floyd Mize, Ed Roberts, J. C. Jamerson, Jeff Rash, Roy Anderson, Roger Bowles, Jim Kennemer, and Gerhart Ottman.
