Ina Ruth Gaddy's Obituary
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Ina Ruth Gaddy, 82, of Henderson, Texas, at 10:00am Saturday August 5,2017 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Kuykendall officiating. Burial will follow at Rusk County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 6pm until 8pm Friday at the Funeral Home.
Ms. Gaddy passed from this life to her eternal home in heaven on August 3, 2017, in Henderson. She was born February 7, 1935, in Dallas, to Homer and Gladys Allen. She grew up in the McKinney area and moved to Henderson in 1970 where she has lived for the past 47 years. She worked primarily in sales until her retirement. Ina Ruth was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Henderson since 1994, where she attended church faithfully until only weeks before her passing. Her church family was a very important part of her life. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her father, Homer Edwin Allen, and mother, Gladys Adelia Rowell Allen, all five of her siblings – four brothers and a baby sister – as well as the late Jerry Gaddy.
Survivors include sons, Jerry Gaddy and wife Barbara of Coppell, Greg Gaddy of Longview, daughters Sandra Merritt of White Oak and Richard Merritt of Henderson, and Sharla Smith and husband Dwayne of Henderson, along with grandchildren Jennifer Webb and husband Brad, Laurie Gaddy, Kevin and Alicia Taylor, Andrew Merritt, Hannah and Abbi Smith, and great-grandchildren Preslie and Sadie Costlow and Dustin and Wyatt Webb. Also included are a host of special nieces, nephews and friends, with one being her very best, life-long friend, Betty Sue Farmer of Hideaway Lake. She loved her family so much and adored her very special “Bett.”
Pallbearers will be Milton Christian, Robert Wallace, Gyce Butler, Brad Webb, David Burks, and Jim Dobbins.
If preferred, donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church building fund in lieu of flowers.
