Ima Jean Irvin's Obituary
Ima Jean Irvin, age 96 of Henderson, peacefully passed away on December 20, 2017 in Henderson, Texas. She was born on May 14, 1921 in Marietta, TX to the loving home of William D. and Osie Lena Wommack. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of fifty six years Harold Junior Irvin, two sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include her three children, Becky and Paul Wood of Henderson, Harold and Debbie Irvin of a Cuero; and Kathy and Brad Hearn of Henderson., along with one sister Bobbie McNeill of Wills Point. Jean leaves seven grandchildren, Bryan and Crystal Irvin, Dawn and Jason Fondren, Brad and Brandi Irvin, Allison West, Ashley and James Warren, Kirby and Jennifer Hearn, and Colby and Chelsey Hearn. Her great grandchildren are Joshua and Jacob Irvin, Joseph Fondren, Zoe Irvin, Jaxon and Brody West, Mayson, Layton, and Payton Warren and Felicity Hearn. She leaves numerous nieces and nephews, all whom she loved dearly.
A graveside celebration of her life will be held at 11:00am Saturday December, 2017 at the Omaha City Cemetery in Omaha, Texas with Rev. Tommy Marshall officiating.
Jean was a wonderful homemaker and gardener. She delighted in beautiful plants and felt that one was truly nearest to God while in a garden.. Harold and Jean retired to Lake Livingston and it gave the great pleasure to furnish vegetables and fresh catfish to all of their friends and neighbors. Jean always carried a song in her heart and passed her of love music on to her children and grandchildren. She truly lived to serve God by serving others.
Until recent years, Jean was an active member of the Baptist Church in Houston, Livingston, and Henderson.
