Graveside services for Mrs. Ilene Bowen, 94, longtime resident of Longview, will be 10 AM Monday, July 25, 2005 in Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery with
Dr. Rick Webb, Chaplain of Buckner Westminster Place, officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
Mrs. Bowen was born in Desdemona, TX on December 4, 1910 to Lige and Connie Glass. She had lived in the Longview area since 1948 and was a member of the First Christian Church. She received her Bachelor of Education degree from North Texas Teacher?s College and had worked in the Longview, Pine Tree and Hallsville Independent School Districts.
The family has asked that memorial donations be made to Margaret House, c/o
Greater Hospice of Texas, Inc., P. O. Box 9725, Longview, TX 75608.
Mrs. Bowen was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Morris S. Bowen, a twin sister, Irene King, and a younger sister, Reba Morris.
She is survived by her daughters, Kay Trich Riney and husband, Hal, of Longview, Janis Browne and husband, Dr. Lynn Browne of Tyler, TX; grandchildren,
David Hill, Mark Hill, Vicki Rowe and Sheri Stillwell; great grandchildren, Laken Lewis, Hunter Hobbs, Karsyn Kay Hobbs, and Tucker and Gage Stillwell.
