Ila Fae Murphy's Obituary
Funeral services for Ila Fae Murphy, 87, of Longview, will be 2:00 PM Friday, April 6, 2007, in the chapel of Rader Funeral Home,
1617 Judson Rd., with Reverend Becky Henson, Reverend Emmitt Barrow, and Reverend Dow Harleston officiating. Interment will follow in Rosewood Park
Cemetery. Mrs. Murphy died Monday evening at a local nursing home.
Ila Fae was born July 19, 1919 in Sulphur Springs, Texas, to Hugh and Florence Tomlinson. She was a member of the Greggton United Methodist Church, and had earned a bachelor?s and master?s degree from East Texas State Teacher?s College in Commerce, TX.
She was a teacher and principal for 34 years employed by the Pasadena School District, retiring in 1982.
Mrs. Murphy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arvil Glen Murphy; a son, Robert Earl Murphy and brother, Tommy Tomlinson.
She is survived by her son, Carol Glen Murphy, of Longview; sister,
Joie F. England of Longview and grandchildren, Jeff Murphy of Pasadena, Shannon, of California, and Susan Jordan of Pearland. She is also survived by four great grandchildren.
