Ida Marie Graham's Obituary
Ida Marie Graham, known to many as "Gran-Gran", 97 of Longview, Texas passed away Wednesday evening on March 20, 2024. She was born in Ennis, Texas to James Thomas Barnett Jr. and Estelle Dorthie Holcomb.
Ida enjoyed being around her family whenever she could and listening to her gospel music any chance she had. Ida’s hobbies included traveling, quilting, playing cards and bingo, shopping, painting, and drinking coffee, black of course with a side of pie. Ida never missed a chance to have her nails done or her hair permed, and if she missed her appointment someone was going to get an ear full. Though her days ended sooner than our hearts were ready to say goodbye, she lived a long life, 98 years old next month, April 20th. When asked the other day what she wanted for her birthday, her response was “for daddy to throw me a surprise party” …and I believe God called her home so she could have just that. Isaiah 46:4 says “Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he. I am he who will sustain you, who will carry you, and I will rescue you.” Ida has been rescued and taken to a place with no more tears, and no more sorrows. Isaiah 35:10 says “Earth has no sorrow that heaven can’t heal” what a comforting feeling to know our sorrows and mourning are only temporary, but her happiness is now evermore.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, son in law, loving husband, and her grandson Blane Thomas Brock.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Anna M. Fritzler and her longtime friend Clifton W. Herring of Hallsville, Texas; Grandchildren: Sylvia A. Short and husband Pete Short of Athens, Texas. James R. Brock of Racine, Wisconsin. Angela Minev and Kimberly Bojarski of Racine Wisconsin; Great grandchildren: Alyssa A. Brock and Kasey Henry of Hallsville, Texas. Joselyn M. Short and Christopher Baker of Eustace, Texas. Christopher A. Short of Athens, Texas, Adrienne E. Toliver and Thaddius Toliver of Hasting, Minnesota, Rayanne Brock of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Jesse Finner of Florida, Bailey and James Brock III of Garland, Texas, and Venetta Minev of Racine, Wisconsin; Great Great Grandchildren; Kamdyn W. Henry of Hallsville, Texas, and Aspynn J. Toliver of Hasting, Minnesota.
"..and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away."
Revelation 21:4
